It's so true the points system definitely deters players from playing ranked after provisionals. If i'm playing the last week of the season, it's because I'm trying to regain silver, lol. Since there's time to make up for screwups, I usually play the 1st 3 weeks then sit on my rank. Come in 3rd and if your lucky and played well, you might get 0 pts, but normally its negative points. If your playing against silver or lower, figure it to be on the low end. Now if your gold and come in 1st, you can get anywhere from 7ish and up. ![]() If your silver and come in, 1st= 20-36pts, 2nd= 13-20ish pts, 3rd= 0-13ish pts, 4th= -3ish - 7ish pts and negative for 5th & 6th place. I've got the scoring system kinda figured out. ![]() I would not risk losing 1 game and losing level. Right now it feels like punishment for gaining. Cetainly it should be rewarded MORE than losing first at a table is penalized. Winning a table should carry a bonus perhaps. It becomes hard to continue climbing while a minor slip can result in catastrophic losses requiring many tables to recover from. As soon as I reach Gold or even high Silver I am under penalty at most tables because I am the highest rated. This seems to be at least partly to blame for few or no Gold players to match against. Even against others of the same rank I see losses exceeding gains. Too much emphasis perhaps going to adjusting against relative ratings. There seems to be a far greater penalty for finishing 4,5,6 at a table than there is a reward for 1,2,3. Thinking some tweaking to Ranked ratings could be done.
